What is Massage Therapy?
Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints.
Unlike a relaxation massage, massage therapy is focused on helping clients treat various pain and medical conditions they may be suffering from.
Massage helps improve the work of the immune system stimulating receptors that transmit sensory signals to the central nervous system, and this in turn causes the reduction in tension in muscles and the feeling of relaxation. Massage causes the release of endorphins which has been shown to reduce pain and muscle tension.
